I had the opportunity and great pleasure of exhibiting my work ALL CHILDREN GROW UP last month at Phototwens in Leuven, at Chez Stephy bar in Brussels (until Nov 15th), and this month at the Atoma Art Center for Art Contest (until Nov 22nd). I’m so happy to share this project, about my relationship with Héloïse, who means the world to me. Héloïse at my place on the red sofa sometime in 2022.

Kamiel de Waal is the winner of Art Contest 2025. For the past four years, Fondation CAB has partnered with Art Contest to support and promote emerging contemporary artists. Each year, Fondation CAB awards a prize to one selected artist and offers them a residency, providing an opportunity to further develop their artistic practice in a dedicated environment for research and creation. Through this ongoing partnership, Fondation CAB reaffirms its commitment to supporting emerging artists and fostering contemporary artistic creation. Kamiel de Waal is a Berlin-based visual artist. His media-driven practice offers a hybrid and sharp take on taste, status and the codes of connoisseurship. As he puts it himself: “My taste is too good to be this bad.” Vases play a recurring role in de Waal’s work, to the point that one might wonder just how many collections or interiors the artist intends to fill with them.

#Repost @florian.kiniques with @use.repost ・・・ Je #Repost @florian.kiniques with @use.repost ・・・ Je suis très heureux d’annoncer que je bénéficie du soutien du Fonds pour la Recherche-Création (FRC) de l’UCLouvain pour développer un projet de recherche-création au sein du laboratoire LDRI/BPBL (Bioanalysis and Pharmacology of Bioactive Lipids), dirigé par Mireille Al Houayek. Cette démarche prend la forme d’une immersion au sein de l’équipe scientifique. À travers l’observation, les échanges et une enquête de terrain, je m’attacherai à recueillir les mots, les vocabulaires et les dynamiques qui traversent ses recherches. Ma pratique consiste à donner une forme matérielle au langage. À partir de mots, de signes de ponctuation et d’expressions prélevés dans le réel, je développe des œuvres qui explorent les relations entre langage, corps et expérience sensible. En instaurant un dialogue approfondi entre recherche scientifique et recherche artistique, ce projet entend rendre visibles leurs méthodes, leurs temporalités et leurs processus de transformation respectifs. Les œuvres produites contribueront à la diffusion de la recherche auprès de nouveaux publics, à la médiation des contenus scientifiques et au développement d’imaginaires partagés entre les champs de l’art et des sciences, tout en s’inscrivant dans la continuité du corpus d’œuvres que je développe depuis bientôt quinze ans. @uclouvain @uclouvain_culture #MireilleAlHouayek #FlorianKiniques #artscience
