Performances: Performance by Maru Mushtrieva on October 9 “Throwing Tomatoes at the Green Screen - The Puppet Show” @marumashmaru Concert by Cuco and Luisa Perez on November 7 Album “Allez Allez!” Closing with collective reading on November 30 *** “It is through her own family that Olivia Hernaïz entered this collective destiny. Learning of the existence of Russian cousins descended from ancestors adopted by the USSR, she investigated this little-known story to design the exhibition La Eterna Juventud proposed at Mu.ZEE (Ostend). The ISELP exhibition invests the Belgian story of this exile, through the figure of the artist’s grandmother. At 13, Purificación Hernaïz Van den Eynden was adopted by a Belgian couple. She lived imbued with memories and sensations, in the silence of an internalized fracture. In Silencio, the artist summons the memory of this character, constructing both a personal portrait and the image of a collective history, with, among other things, the cover of a monumental bed where embroidered by the artist, objects that belonged to the deceased, or sentences evoking her memory alternate. Childhood and its inscription in wars, exile, as well as the transmission of memory, figures and history are at the heart of the subject. Silencio also hosts a performative device by the artist Maru Mushtrieva. A puppet theater that will be activated during a performance caricaturing the great and the good of this world.
