✧ Objectif de la résidence:

Le thème est libre.

L’objectif de la résidence est de permettre à l’artiste photographe de s’accorder un temps de réflexion sur son travail.

Le projet que l’artiste va développer dans le cadre de la résidence doit s’inscrire dans la continuité de sa recherche artistique qu’il continuera à développer pendant la résidence à Berlin.

Le résultat de la résidence sera exposé dans l’espace « Galerie » Fotofabrik Bln Bxl fin 2018 ou dans le courant de l’année 2019.

✧ Cadre de la résidence:

“Fotofabrik Bln‐Bxl” est une galerie photo avec événements connexes mise sur pied par Annabel Werbrouck & Fabrice Havenne, tout deux de nationalité belge, à Berlin.

Depuis mars 2016, Fotofabrik Bln Bxl a pris ses quartiers à Berlin ‐ Neukölln, au rez‐de‐chaussée du nr. 30 de la Weisestrasse. Le lieu comprend une galerie d’une surface de 50 m2, un appartement de 80 m2 – où vivent Annabel Werbrouck & Fabrice Havenne – et un studio de 35 m2 à destination des résidences.

✧ Durée de la résidence:

La résidence sera d’une durée de 2 mois maximum – les résidences étant réparties sur l’année 2018, de février à juillet.

✧ Conditions :

Cet appel à projets en vue de participer à une résidence s’adresse à tout photographe résidant en Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (FWB) et démontrant un lien avec la FWB. Ainsi, l’artiste devra être impliqué dans la création contemporaine en FWB depuis au moins trois ans et donc témoigner d’un ancrage culturel et d’une certaine reconnaissance en FWB.

La Commission “Arts plastiques” de Wallonie-Bruxelles-International fait part de son avis sur la présélection proposée par Fotofabrik.

Après discussion entre Fotofabrik & l’artiste concernant la période de résidence, une procédure de subventionnement sera lancée un mois avant le début de résidence de l’artiste.

La subvention couvrira:

* Deux mois de loyer à la résidence. L’artiste devra prouver que ce montant a bien été versé sur le compte de la résidence. Soit 2 x 650€ = 1 300€.

* Les frais de transport A/R : ceux-ci couvriront un double déplacement : l’A/R pour la résidence ainsi qu’un abonnement aux transports publics berlinois ET l’A/R pour l’exposition qui en découlera. A justifier également pour un montant maximum de 250€.

* Un montant maximum de 300€ pour la production de l’exposition, à justifier également par l’artiste.

* Une avance de fonds d’un montant de 75% pourra être accordée à l’artiste. N.B. : Une garantie locative pour le studio, d’un montant de 200€, sera demandée à l’arrivée de l’artiste et restituée après état des lieux.

A la fin du séjour, l’artiste rédigera un rapport circonstancié de sa résidence. Ce rapport devra être accompagné de visuels.

✧ Chaque artiste doit fournir avant le 23 Novembre 2017:

– Une bio;

– Un Cv;

– Un texte expliquant sa démarche artistique « en général »;

– Un texte expliquant le projet que l’artiste veut développer lors de la résidence;

– Un pdf avec 15 à 20 images représentatives de sa démarche artistique.

Vers la mi-décembre 2017, après réunion de la Commission, les 3 photographes sélectionnés seront avertis par Fotofabrik.

Call to projects in order to apply for residencies lasting a maximum of 2 months as photographer from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles in Berlin in 2018 : (submissions to be received at the latest on the 22nd of November 2017)

Purpose of the residency:

There is no imposed theme.

The purpose of the residency is to allow the photographer to give himself a period of reflection about its work.

The project the artist will work on within the residency must be in continuous connection with his artistic quest, which she / he will continue to develop during the residency in Berlin.

The result of the work produced during the residency will be exhibited in the gallery space of Fotofabrik Bln Bxl at the end of 2018 or in 2019.

Context of the residency:

“Fotofabrik Bln‐Bxl” is a photo gallery with side events put together by Annabel Werbrouck & Fabrice Havenne, both belgian, in Berlin.

Since March 2016, Fotofabrik Bln Bxl is based in Berlin ‐ Neukölln, – on the ground floor in Weisestrasse 30. The place includes a gallery of 50 sqm2, an appartement of 80 sqm2 – where Annabel Werbrouck & Fabrice Havenne are living – and a studio de 35 sqm2devoted to artist residencies.

Duration of the residency:

The residency will last a maximum of 2 months – spread in 2018, from February until July.

Conditions:

This Call to Projects is aimed at Photographers who have been living in the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, and showing a strong connection to the FWB, by being involved in contemporary creative work for at least 3 years, and thus show a cultural background and a certain recognition in the FWB.

The « Plastic Arts » Commission of Wallonie-Bruxelles-International evaluates Fotofabrik’s preselection.

After an agreement between Fotofabrik & the artist regarding when his/her residency will take place, a procedure of financial support is launched 1 month before the beginning of the start of the artist’s residency ;

This support will cover the following expenses :

• Two months of rent at the residency. The artist has to prove that the amount has been paid on the account of the residency. That means 2 x 650€ = 1200€.

• Transport Return fee: this will cover two trips : one return trip to attend the residency AND another one to attend the Vernissage of the Exhibition linked to the residency + a monthly-fee for public transport in Berlin – for a maximum of 250€, with receipts to be provided.

• A maximum amount of 300€ for the Exhibition production costs, also to be paid in exchange for receipts to be provided by the artist.

• An advance on funding of 75% might be paid to the artist

At the end of the residency, the artist will write down a report about her/his residency, and will join some visuals along.

N.B: A rental deposit for the studio, in the amount of 200€, will be requested upon arrival of the artist and returned after inventory of the premises.

At the end of the residency, the artist will write a report about its stay, to be provided with visuals.

Each artist has to provide, before the 23rd of November 2016:

– A biography;

– A Curriculum Vitae;

– A text explaining her/his artistic approach in general ;

– A text explaining the project she/he would like to develop within the residency.

– a pdf document with 15 to 20 images representing its artistic approach ; .

Around mid-December 2016, after the Commission’s meeting, the 3 selected photographers selected by Fotofabrik will be informed by Fotofabrik.
