Third winner: @noeznidarsic Le projet présenté, Third winner: @noeznidarsic Le projet présenté, « ALL CHILDREN GROW UP », est une série photographique au long cours consacrée à l’amitié entre l’artiste et son amie Héloïse, atteinte d’anorexie. Commencé pendant son hospitalisation, le projet documente l’évolution de leur relation, les effets de la maladie et du rétablissement, ainsi que le passage de l’adolescence à l’âge adulte. Inspiré de la phrase d’ouverture de Peter Pan (« All children grow up, except one »), il aborde avec délicatesse les thèmes de la mémoire, du soin, de la vulnérabilité et de la construction de soi. Plutôt que d’illustrer la maladie, les images mettent en avant la proximité, la tendresse et la complexité des liens humains. The project on display, ‘ALL CHILDREN GROW UP’, is a long-term photographic series dedicated to the friendship between the artist and her friend Héloïse, who suffers from anorexia. Begun whilst she was in hospital, the project documents the evolution of their relationship, the effects of the illness and recovery, as well as the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Inspired by the opening line of Peter Pan (“All children grow up, except one”), it delicately explores the themes of memory, care, vulnerability and self-construction. Second winner: @doub.ll Le projet présenté est u Second winner: @doub.ll Le projet présenté est une installation totale intitulée SPLIT, An Introduction to…, combinant vidéo, installation et performance. Le projet met en scène SPLIT, un mouvement physico-spirituel fictif né à la fin des années 1980 autour d’une pratique de gymnastique devenue doctrine. À travers une documentation mêlant films, objets, conférence en ligne, méditation, accessoires et éléments scénographiques, l’artiste crée une fausse archive qui questionne la recherche contemporaine de spiritualité et les dérives des mouvements de développement personnel. The project presented is a comprehensive installation entitled SPLIT, An Introduction to…, combining video, installation and performance. The project centres on SPLIT, a fictional physical and spiritual movement that emerged in the late 1980s around a form of gymnastics that evolved into a doctrine. Through a body of documentation combining films, objects, an online lecture, meditation, props and scenographic elements, the artist creates a fictional archive that questions the contemporary search for spirituality and the excesses of self-help movements. Le projet principal proposé à ArtContest 2026 est Le projet principal proposé à ArtContest 2026 est BARWITA (2026), une installation mobile composée d’une brouette chargée d’objets, de matériaux récupérés et de signes liés à l’héritage amazigh. L’œuvre interroge : la mémoire des migrations, les circulations culturelles, les rapports de pouvoir hérités de la colonisation, la valeur accordée aux objets et aux récits populaires, le travail invisible des corps migrants. I had the opportunity and great pleasure of exhibiting my work ALL CHILDREN GROW UP last month at Phototwens in Leuven, at Chez Stephy bar in Brussels (until Nov 15th), and this month at the Atoma Art Center for Art Contest (until Nov 22nd). I’m so happy to share this project, about my relationship with Héloïse, who means the world to me. Héloïse at my place on the red sofa sometime in 2022.

Kamiel de Waal is the winner of Art Contest 2025. For the past four years, Fondation CAB has partnered with Art Contest to support and promote emerging contemporary artists. Each year, Fondation CAB awards a prize to one selected artist and offers them a residency, providing an opportunity to further develop their artistic practice in a dedicated environment for research and creation. Through this ongoing partnership, Fondation CAB reaffirms its commitment to supporting emerging artists and fostering contemporary artistic creation. Kamiel de Waal is a Berlin-based visual artist. His media-driven practice offers a hybrid and sharp take on taste, status and the codes of connoisseurship. As he puts it himself: “My taste is too good to be this bad.” Vases play a recurring role in de Waal’s work, to the point that one might wonder just how many collections or interiors the artist intends to fill with them.
